Having secured a 2 week visa for Russia (that's all they would give me!) i flew to Moscow. The two photos above are of my hotel and the view from my window. It was a Hugh monolithic slab of a building built for the 1980 Olympic games. To say Moscow is a hard place to travel around alone is an understatement. Many people don't or wont speak to you. (maby it was just me?) I found it a very lonely place but none the less very picturesque in places.

I’m from AL. Two guys from Russia were working with me last year in Wal Mart (there was some kind of exchange program, I think). I’d like to say they were very friendly and clever… Probably, there are not many people from Russia like them… I don’t know… But I think that a human not depends just on country, you know, education and stuff…
You are of course basically right. It's just during my month there I found it very hard communicating. Perhaps your experience was better, due to the fact the two chaps you mentioned had escaped the confines of the fatherland therefore were of a more jovial nature...
